Women of Tomorrow Awards
The Women of Tomorrow Awards program was established in 1997 to recognize young women who have achieved records of academic excellence, extraordinary community service and outstanding leadership. Commissioners Wandra Ashley-Williams and Lorna Forde co-chaired the 2016 Women of Tomorrow program. Schools, individuals and organizations in Maryland were invited to nominate students for this award. An independent committee representing a cross section of the state reviewed the nominations and made the final selection of honorees. The honorees were recognized at a ceremony in Annapolis on April 7, 2016, when the inductees into the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame were also honored.
