Homayara Haque Aziz is a Physician Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a faculty at University of Maryland School of Medicine. She has published papers regarding surgery, patient satisfaction and spoken at American College of Ob/Gyn Annual meeting, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Annual meeting and Relay for Life. She is the recipient of the SLS Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Surgeon Award, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship, the NSF Recognition Award for Integrating Research and Education Fellowship and the National Science Foundation Project Women in Science and Engineering Scholar. She was nominated by her patients for Chesapeake Family Favorite Doctor. Dr. Aziz volunteers extensively in the community educating women regarding safe sex, contraception and women’s health. She is passionate about women’s education, access to healthcare, and equal pay. She was appointed by Governor O’Malley to serve on the Maryland Commission for Women in 2014. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, reading, gardening, painting and spending time with her three young children and husband. She speaks English, Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Spanish and Arabic.
