April Nyman is the Executive Director of the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County. She has 14 years’ experience serving in Corporate Marketing and Events positions within the Hotel and Mall Industries. Throughout her life she has held a strong belief in giving back, serving as a steadfast volunteer in the communities she has lived. This passion led her to non-profit organizations in a professional capacity for more than 15 years. She has also served as Executive Director of Historical Organizations, and the Navy League in Florida.
Ms. Nyman has been recognized by the Capital Gazette as a 2010 Woman of the Year. She currently serves on the boards of the Community Arts Agencies of Maryland, Maryland Citizens for the Arts, 4 Rivers Heritage Area, Annapolis and Anne Arundel Visitors Center Board. She is a graduate of the Executive Leadership Series for Leadership Anne Arundel, served as Treasurer for the Annapolis Rotary, and is active in both the United Way and Combine Federal Campaigns.
Ms. Nyman has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of West Florida in Management, with a minor in Accounting. She was born in Pensacola, FL, and has lived in Edgewater, MD since 2005 with her 3 children.
